Sri V.R.Krishnan, Secretary
Chennai Association
informs:
Friends,
It is long since we had communicated anything to our members because of the fact that nothing concrete had developed to be taken to the members. However it is felt that the details of the following two important meetings held during the last month may be of interest to members. As regards our court case the computer generated date is 26th March 2019. Whether any hearing will take place.... to be seen 1) Members will recall that there has always been a view amongst a large section of pensioners that why the six parties, including our federation, to the pending case on our problems in the Supreme court should not give a common thrust instead of standing apart. The issue also came up for discussions at the fedn's EC meeting held at Bangalore in Dec 2018. Accordingly thanks to the initiative of AIRIEFa meeting of representatives of all parties except shri KML Asthana was held, duly hosted at chennai by our GS shri D Krishnan on 2/2/2019. Our Association was represented by shri M Arunachalam and myself with our president joining for lunch. It was decided at the meeting that the points on which we should argue shall be uniformly instructed to the respective counsels so that the thrust before court will be of a common nature without any contradictions. The idea of forming a confederation of all organisers of insurance pensioners also found acceptance at the meeting. 2) A meeting of members of the EC of our Assn.and a good number of special invitees was held at Hotel Sangeetha Mylapore chennai on 28/2/2019. It was decided at the said meeting that the AGM for 2018-19 will held on 5th May 2019.(Formal notice will be sent in due course). The GS Shri D Krishnan addressed the members and detailed the steps being taken by the fedn to secure redressal of our problems by lobbying at political levels also besides pursuing the litigation diligently.Shri. M Arunachalam in his brief talk referred to some intricate aspects of our legitimate demands After official agenda was over the President Shri GN Sridharan conveyed his decision to completely retire from all activities of the fedn/Assn and sought to be relieved immediately. Four senior members Viz. M/s K Vaidyanathan,PA Sivakumaran,Y Bhagyanath & K Jagannathan strongly spoke on the need for GNS to continue in office. As the closing time was approaching Shri Sridharan agreed to continue till our AGM scheduled for 5/5/2019. All members are requested to take a note of the general body meeting in the first week of May 2019.
PS:
We have been receiving inquiries from members that some
association is sending membership forms and asking them to
enroll themselves. Though we are discussing about joint action,
there are lot of differences - the main thing being we are the
only association fighting exclusively, the cause of Class
I officers, whose problems the associations having
heterogeneous groups as members may not be able to seriously
take up. We can quote many instances. Our sincere advice
to our members is not to encourage such requests.
With greetings- VR Krishnan Secretary |
