Re :Legal Action for 92-93 retirees'issue I am receiving enquiries on the status of actions contemplated in regard to the above. Though the matter relates to a very small section of our membership and the legal action does not concern other pensioners ,i thought it appropriate to share the following information with all our units so that their concerned members if any could informed of our efforts . As already known to all I visited Enakulam last month and had detailed discussions on the question of filing a petition in the pending writ filed by two individuals out of whom one is seriously ailing and another is not in a position to expedite a disposal of the 8 year old WP. We therefore thought of filing an I A taking advantage of dismissal of LIC's SLP in SC in MC Jain's mater. It was also considered a less expensive affair for us. The news of the demise of Shri. VK Murthy Retd.Sr BM chennai yesterday(15/11) has indeed been a very saddening one for all his close friends like me. A soft spoken person with an amiable temperament, Shri Murthy was known more as a fine human being than as just an erstwhile colleague in LIC for many of us. He was not only a good performer officially, but was also deeply concerned about the welfare of the officers and their families.He was an active worker for the cause of officers and held many positions in the chennai Association until about a couple of years back when he took seriously ill.                         I would like to share with all the readers of this message an episode concerning me and shri. Murthy which will illustrate his lofty trait of real and genuine friendship. I had taken voluntary retirement from  LIC in 1991 for contesting the elections to the state Legislative Assembly. Having known I was to visit the Zonal office to collect my cheque for my terminal benefit

  8.12.2017 The Nineth General council meeting of the Federation is scheduled to be held at Mumbai on  Friday the 8th Dec 2017 .  8.12.2017 Friday. The venue will be Hotel Ramakrishna Vile Parle (East) Mumbai 400 057 and formal notice has already been sent to all concerned.
