Dear shri VRK,  I too got the news of the demise of Shri KC Ranganathan this morning. He was one of those unfortunate colleagues who retired during the fateful 92-93.It is a pity that the  top people in LIC who gloat over their contribution for growth of LIC have been disgustingly indifferent and insensitive to old retirees like KCR.  I remember how he gave expression to his agony last year when  his 20% IR payment got delayed .While joining you in praying for his soul to rest in peace   I request you to inform all members particularly of the 92-93 batch that we shall be taking some positive legal steps very shortly on the issue concerning them .I Sincerely feel that it will be the fittest tribute we can offer to the memory of KCR .-GN Sridharan

Sridharan G.N 2:22 PM (52 minutes ago) to bcc:  me Hearing in SC on 13.10.2017 As we had already informed through short messages, our case came up for hearing as scheduled yesterday.  LIC Counsel was the first to speak and he wanted time to file counter. Our Senior Counsel then pointed out that the S.C. had already granted an interim relief but LIC have not been paying the increase consistently. He strongly pleaded for grant of further IR. The Bench specifically examined the paper book of our SLP 21206/2017 and indicated that the grant of IR will be considered. We were satisfied, and so were our counsel on record and senior counsel, that the bench was favorably inclined on IR. It was Hon’ble judges who posted the matter in Jan 2018. We have to mention that the significant part of day’s discussion was from our Senior Counsel. Four of our representatives including myself were present. Four members of AIRIEF were also present.

The case came up today in Supreme court. Our Senior Counsel pleaded for interim relief. The bench looked into the papers relating to our SLP IN PARTICULAR AND GAVE FAVOURABLE INDICATION AND POSTED THE MATTER FOR FINAL DISPOSAL TO JANUARY 2018 . EXACT DATE WILL BE KNOWN SHORTLY. Co-ordination meeting between Federation of Retired LIC Class I Officers’ Associations and All India Retired Insurance Employees’ Federation at Bangalore on 5 th Oct 2017 The meeting of the representatives of the two organizations was held today. This is the 2 nd one in Bengalore after the one informal meeting in Delhi in May 2017. The discussion centred on the conduct of the ongoing SLPs in Supreme Court. It was felt that separate SLPs by Shri Asthana, Hyderabad & Panchakula being posted for different dates, nothing significant can be expected to happen at the forthcoming hearing on 13/10/2017. It was strongly advocated that our two organizations should stress on Interim Relief at the above hearing since there is bound to be a long gap before further hearing if SLPs are converted into regular Civil Appeals.
