  Friends,  Shri C T Gopalaratnam one of our very senior members, passed away yesterday, May 27, 2021 evening. He was 88+ (born in Aug 1932).  He was one of the victims of the unfortunate 1992-93 retirees of the Class I Officers who were denied the benefits of the Wage revision. We pray for his soul to rest in peace.   Secretary Our President's condolence message  Shri CTG passes away With a heavy heart,  I have to report the sad news of the demise of Shri CT Gopalaratnam at about 3 pm yesterday (27/5). His son Suresh called me up early today to convey that his father succumbed to the deadly covid virus. CTG as he was popularly known in LIC circles was close to me in several ways. He was with me in the legal Dept of ZO and was also a a resident of my Karpagam Gardens colony for a long time. I cannot forget the several occasions when he came forward to help me personally.

  Edit — As per reports, antibodies weren't built in his body after vaccination. This could possibly be because of 4 weeks gap between his two doses, first being in Feb. I was following with keen interest the posts in the blogs relating to the reported latest move of the Federation of LIC class1 officers' Associations to enlist retired class1  officers as Life members of their organization. While the in-service employees have been paid their Arrears on account of Revision, there is as yet no idea, of when the Pensioners’ dues would be disbursed. We take it, that the Attendance in Offices would be thin, and the CO would take their time in completing the roll out of the Benefits, due to the pensioners. There are two aspects to the Benefits for Pensioners here. One is the Arrears of Salaries due to Revision, and the other relates to Re-fixing the Pension at Retirement.
