It is tomorrow.

Ecircular No.DK/28                                        24-07-2018

Friends,

I know all of you are waiting anxiously for news from SC in Delhi. It is a disappointment that , some other case of environmental importance , where closure of some units were involved,  took precedence over ours, and the whole day was spent on that. The judges have made it clear that our case will remain on the list. We are not sure if this means, that it will come up tomorrow, or wait until next Tuesday. If it does come up tomorrow, our Delhi friends alone will stand by, as all our LC members had booked their Return for this evening and are coming back.

The flip side is that it has given our LC Members a chance to have detailed discussions with our Sr. Counsel, who was available through the day for our purposes. It also means that today's missed chance in the Court will still count as one Appearance, and his Fee will need to be paid!

Incidentally, out of the six Petitioners, Asthana had pleaded difficulty for today due to ill-health, and AIRIEF's Sr Counsel Tulsi was not available.  This in brief is today's substantive information from Delhi. I may receive mail from Sri GNS a little later and I might pass it on too, as it comes in.  ---D.Krishnan.

Message from our Chairman Legal Committee: Camp Delhi

The Case came up at about 11 AM and our advocate and sr. Counsel were present. The bench suggested that since another important matter which was also listed today and called for urgent hearing our case can be taken up in the Afternoon . Unfortunately for us the other matter dragged on till the end of the day It was suggested by counsels that it can be heard tomorrow.

Justice Lokur said it will remain on the list. If it is not heard today our feeling is it may be appearing in the list but heard only next week. In this context it is probable that arguments can take place on next Tuesday as normally Tuesdays are   reserved by this particular bench for cases calling for long arguments by all the parties concerned.

Our advocate advised us that if by chance the court agrees to hear tomorrow he will ensure the presence of the sr. counsel. If a definite date is given he will intimate me.

All LC members have left for their places. More details on our return –

Regards -- GN Sridharan.

Appeal by Sridharan G.N 6:02 PM (13 minutes ago) FAITH AND PRAYER  deserve to be considered as one of the weapons to fight the virus menace. It is  not without purpose that even the Westerners believe in the old dictum - 'many things are wrought by prayers'. Gandhiji said that the tenets of Hindu religion and faith has universal application .Our ancient texts do prescribe prayers as a panacea for all human ailments. For instance in Mahabharata - vide Dwadasa nama pancharam an appendix to Vishnu Sahasranamam - a sloka in the words of Bishma pitamah runs as follows: "Achyutha,Anantha,Govinda namocharana beshajath nasyanti sakala rohath ,Satyam satyam vadhamyaham" That is, he swears that uttering the various names of the Lord will cure a person  of  ALL his diseases. In another sloka it is said that even water from holy Ganga can be good enough a medicine (oushadam) if only we believe the Lord (sriman Narayana) as the doctor.(vaidy
