The Editor is informed that THIS RESOLUTION was passed by the AGM , Chennai Association on 5.5.19

RESOLUTION.
This meeting earnestly appeals to all retirees/Pensioners 'to appreciate
that taking recourse to litigation endlessly will not solve all our genuine problems
and consequently, with the Judicial System in our country being what it is, placing
high expectation on the outcome of the pending case in Supreme Court is
unwarranted. Our Apex body viz., Federation of retired LIC class - I officers
Association deserves our full complements for having
already achieved a fair measure of success in the matter of DR anomaly, ,
much to the surprise and envy of our brethren even in the Banking sector,
who are irretrievably placed with a negative verdict from the Supreme Court,
making them wait for' the mercy of 113A and Government. to retrieve-them out of
the situation, J t should therefore be realized that the main and larger
issue of up-gradation is the only remaining one which concerns the entire
pensioners' community and the Federation should strive.to achieve it in the
near future. This meeting is therefore of the .considered view that in order to ,
. preserve what has been..already secured, though with all its pitfalls and .LtC'
::;failure to implement the Delhi High Court Judgment fully in letter :and spirit,
we should make G\II efforts after the new Government takes over by , ~
the end of this 11."1011th by intense lobbying instead of looking to a court verdict.
As a sequel to this suggestion, this meeting calls upon the ,
Federation, and also the leaders of all the LIC pensioners' organizations not
to meddle with the progress of the Case in the Supreme' Court by demonstrating
over enthusiasm and misplaced expectation but leave the judicial process to
take its: own course and have faith in the counsels engaged.

Appeal by Sridharan G.N 6:02 PM (13 minutes ago) FAITH AND PRAYER  deserve to be considered as one of the weapons to fight the virus menace. It is  not without purpose that even the Westerners believe in the old dictum - 'many things are wrought by prayers'. Gandhiji said that the tenets of Hindu religion and faith has universal application .Our ancient texts do prescribe prayers as a panacea for all human ailments. For instance in Mahabharata - vide Dwadasa nama pancharam an appendix to Vishnu Sahasranamam - a sloka in the words of Bishma pitamah runs as follows: "Achyutha,Anantha,Govinda namocharana beshajath nasyanti sakala rohath ,Satyam satyam vadhamyaham" That is, he swears that uttering the various names of the Lord will cure a person  of  ALL his diseases. In another sloka it is said that even water from holy Ganga can be good enough a medicine (oushadam) if only we believe the Lord (sriman Narayana) as the doctor.(vaidy
