Cyclone Havoc in Odisha ...

This communication is almost totally dedicated to the Devastations suffered in Odisha under the impact of the severe Cyclone Fani  which has played  havoc with life and property there. The coastal districts of Puri and Bhubaneswar , in particular are in very bad shape, without food, water and Electricity. Even as I write this now after about 10 days of the catastrophe, Power has not been restored. Our Retiree friends in Odisha were finding it difficult to even send messages on their tragedy because the Network too was cut off.

Incidentally it may be seen, that every time there is a threat of Cyclone, held out for coastal Tamil Nadu, it is Odisha that eventually takes the brunt. There is an urgent need for us to respond to this unfortunate event, in the form of whatever help we might be in a position to render, to the  suffering  people of Odisha.

 We had earlier made similar calls to our Associations,  to send in funds to the States of Kerala, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, to which our people responded in good measure. A similar Call is being given out here, for help, to the victims in Odisha. The route to the  CM's Relief Fund a/c details, will be provided here below, to enable our Associations to send in money for Relief in Odisha.

The  Funds from our Associations can be sent to the Account Details  furnished   below.

More than even the Funds, it is the solidarity we express with the affected people that will go a long way in making those people , now in severe distress conditions, feel that they are not alone in this gloomy hour. We certainly are with them  of mind and spirit, if not in body.
