Friends,

Reg:...  Discussions with Management on Revision due 2017, by Employee Associations

I had conveyed to you last, about the LIC Management inviting the representatives of Employee Associations for an information sharing session on the 30th of Sept. 2020, through a virtual platform.  It is good to note that this session was followed up with Discussions with the individual Associations seeking their detailed expectations in and around the Revision package.

I was particularly pleased with the very detailed agenda of expectations placed before the Management by the Class I Officers’ Federation (attached). The good thing is that there have been responses from the Management on a number of issues right across the Table. One really happy feature of the list of Demands from the side of the Class I Federation is that there are separate demands made for separate sections of class I including the Retired Officers. And on behalf of the Retired Officers the demand for Up-gradation has been placed 1st on the list.

A similar exercise was undertaken with the LIC Employees’ Federation and AIIEA too and their Circulars (Reproduced here) also carry very well-planned items of demand, and wherever responses of the Management were forthcoming, the indications are there in their Circulars too.

The Joint Front of the three petitioners in the SC, has attempted once again to represent to the Chairman the need for following up on our matters. A jointly signed letter has been already sent to the Chairman and MD, which is also being reproduced here for your information.

I have also addressed a letter to our Advocate in Kochi regarding the Hearing due on our Appeal in the 92-93 Retirees Case in the Kerala High Court.  It appears normal functioning of the HC is yet to restart. I am awaiting a response from our Advocate there.

Meanwhile my Best Wishes once again to all of you.

With greetings for safe and healthy stay

D.KRISHNAN

General Secretary

Appeal by Sridharan G.N 6:02 PM (13 minutes ago) FAITH AND PRAYER  deserve to be considered as one of the weapons to fight the virus menace. It is  not without purpose that even the Westerners believe in the old dictum - 'many things are wrought by prayers'. Gandhiji said that the tenets of Hindu religion and faith has universal application .Our ancient texts do prescribe prayers as a panacea for all human ailments. For instance in Mahabharata - vide Dwadasa nama pancharam an appendix to Vishnu Sahasranamam - a sloka in the words of Bishma pitamah runs as follows: "Achyutha,Anantha,Govinda namocharana beshajath nasyanti sakala rohath ,Satyam satyam vadhamyaham" That is, he swears that uttering the various names of the Lord will cure a person  of  ALL his diseases. In another sloka it is said that even water from holy Ganga can be good enough a medicine (oushadam) if only we believe the Lord (sriman Narayana) as the doctor.(vaidy
