My friend and a veteran activist of the Federation of Retd.LIC class 1 officers' Assns Shri SK Awasthi of Lucknow has forwarded to me the following News from 'India today' dt.24/4

"Lucknow : 85 year old woman stitches masks for needy, uses pension ,savings to distribute rations
My husband was in LIC and after his death I am getting a pension of Rs 10000/- I am buying material to stitch masks and arranging rations from the pension money and the savings I have
said Mrs Kumud "
According to shri Awasthi , the old lady Mrs. Kumud is the widow of late shri jagdish Kumar Bajpai who was a well known trade union leader of Lucknow Division of LIC. Shri J k Bajpai retired as Hindi officer in the cadre of AO in the pre 1993 era.
