""What is so special about this meeting, that they are pestering us to attend at our old age ? " inquired my old friend from some unheard of pakkam at chennai.  He is another member of Chennai Association for the last 17 years. 

Hey ! It is AGM..! U can see all our friends and have a great lunch too !....I hurriedly said. Continuing, " u may have details of SC case also ....."

Interrupting me, he said:  "What for ? Year by Year the same report of our activities and hearing dates of cases happening.  Only dates of hearing are changing in the reports...Possibly they are using the same Secretary's report filling up the columns of date of hearing only , year after year."

In sheer exasperation, I asked , "then, are you not attending ?"

"Better", he continued, "let the caterers be advised to courier the lunch to all the +80 pensioners, of course, wrapped in the Secretary's report......"

"But then, will u not be missing, the Great GNS speech?"I interjected.

"No problem", he replied, possibly firmly, "I know some cranky one will air his address LIVE  through FACEBOOK.""

I never ventured to ask who that cranky old man could be... as everyone knows.
