I hope the news of the following type will provide at least a few
minutes of desirable distraction to LIC pensioners who seem to be
unnecessarily breaking their heads over non listing of their cases in
the supreme court.
I
refer in this connection to the latest decision of the management of
Bharat Petroleum corporation(a public sector organisation)to
implement a scheme for what they term as
'felicitation'
for retired employees in recognition of their contribution.By their
circular dated 14/3/2019 the BPCL have announced cash grants to their
retirees/ pensioners on their reaching age related milestones as
follows.
Age.
Management workmen
Staff

The
effective date is 10/1/2019 and if the retired employee has expired
between the said date and the date of implementation the family will
be paid.
It
is gratifying that there is still a some soft corner for senior
citizens in some quarters. We can be certain that LIC can be least
expected to emulate them!!

Dear Sury
What a refreshing news from GNS about BPCL's grateful gesture to its retired employees, when we poor LIC Pensioners are groping in the dark about SC's next date of hearing and non receipt of pension on 1st April itself.
Regards
V. Gopalan
