GNS invites you all for a GREAT LUNCH, of course after the AGM is over. Please attend.

" "What is so special about this meeting, that they are pestering us to attend at our old age ? " inquired my old friend from some unheard of pakkam at chennai.  He is another member of Chennai Association for the last 17 years.  Hey ! It is AGM..! U can see all our friends and have a great lunch too !....I hurriedly said. Continuing, " u may have details of SC case also ....." Interrupting me, he said:  "What for ? Year by Year the same report of our activities and hearing dates of cases happening.  Only dates of hearing are changing in the reports...Possibly they are using the same Secretary's report filling up the columns of date of hearing only , year after year." In sheer exasperation, I asked , "then, are you not attending ?" "Better", he continued, "let the caterers be advised to courier the lunch to all the +80 pensioners, of course, wrapped in the Secretary's report......" "But then, ...

Uddhava gita 01 - Nochur venkataramanan

ntroduction  There are several Hindu Scriptural texts by the name Gita though this name has come to be synonymous with the Bhagavad Gita because of its popularity. There is another Gita which goes by the name Uddhava Gita which is also in the format of a dialogue between Krishna and his dear friend, Uddhava. The timing of this dialogue is when the Lord’s incarnation as Krishna is nearing its end. The destruction of Yadava clan by mutual fratricidal fighting has already started on account of a curse by the holy men on them. During such turbulent times Krishna advised the Yadavas to move to Prabhasa for prayers. At this point Uddhava, the great devotee and attendant of Krishna, apprehending the impending danger, approached him for spiritual instructions. TO READ MORE OF THIS, CLICK HERE.

Significance of EMBLEM in SRI RAMAKRISHNA ORDER.

"The wavy waters in the picture are symbolic of Karma, the lotus of Bhakti, and the rising-sun of Jnana. The encircling serpent is indicative of Yoga and awakened Kunadalini Shakti, while the swan in the picture stands for Paramatman. Therefore, the ideal of the picture is that by the union of Karma, Jnana, Bhakti and Yoga, the vision of the Paramatman is obtained" The emblem of the Ramakrishna Order designed by  Swami Vivekananda  is a unique and unparalleled work of art created by one of the richest minds in contemporary history in an exalted mood of spiritual inspiration. It is a profound symbol of harmony and synthesis for reverential meditation in this present age of conflict and disharmony. This symbol is the epitome of Swamiji's message of harmony and synthesis, leading to life's fulfilment. This is indeed the most eloquent expression of what he really preached, what he wanted every man and woman to be, to realize, either in the East or in the We...

Consciousness: Vedanta's teachings about your true nature

Srirangam Chithirai Thirunaal First Day 25 4 2019

You are seeing the First Day Festival of Chithrai at Srirengam. Incidentally,  realisation of Brahman (That is Existence-Consciousness-Bliss) is advised in our scriptures (vedhapurva and vedhanta)  either through any of the specified Marga (route) Karma Marg (duty performed with Shraddha and devotion to the goal, mind unattached to the fruits of karma ) , (2) Bhakthi Marg with our Mind fixed firmly on the Saroopa, saguna Iswara,(surrender at the feet of Lord, leaving everything for Him to decide)  , (3) Yoga Marg (Pathanjali and Raja Yoga Marg) or (4) Gnana Marg or  a combine of all the four routes, put together. No marg negates practice of  other margas.  In brief, Nirguna, Niraakara Iswara is Brahman  and Saguna Saakaara Brahman is Iswara.  The non-dualistic approach (Advaitha) is towards the Ultimate Bliss.  Sath ...Chith.. Anandh. True Existence. Consciousness ..Awareness Bliss.

"What is it that flies out and travels when one dies? " Seriously, I asked my close colleague.

He said , " I don't know. But to be sure, when I vacate this planet, all the arrears I may receive on updation of pension shall go to my second daughter. And that is how I have made my will."  Leaving that behind, for a while, let us  Now listen to this rebirth or reincarnation theory propounded by non-dualistic theories of Indic Religions.
