After several postponements, our case in Supreme Court did come up on 03 08.22 but at a time when court hours were to end,  no hearing took place and Court adjourned it for 1st September 22. Let us hope on that day hearing takes place.  On Govt.  front,  the notification regarding increase in Family Pension , is still with the Secretary,  Dept.  of Financial Services.  I read with interest a long article in which the author categorically opines that upgradation is not only viable but is also OBLIGATORY on the authorities concerned  to grant it. I believe it is yet another attempt to boost the sagging morale of the pensioners.Whatever it is I consider it necessary to frankly express myself  in the interests of the pensioners and appeal to them to be practical  in assessing 'obligatory ' part of the author's views. I have always regarded shri CHM as a highly knowledgeable  person  on pension related matters notwithstanding  my strong opinion that his role in running the Hyderabad Association as a seperate  entity by remote control from Chennai is in effect only undermining the unity of  retired officers. I complement him on the points made out by him in his long note except on his observations  regarding the provisions of Rule 56 & 55 b. Before I proceed it is rele
