22-06-2022

Dear members,

First of all, I tender my apologies for not being in connectivity with all of you for the past fortnight especially when our 22nd  AGM on 4-06-2022 was successfully concluded.  Hope all of you know  that the 11th biennial General council of the All India Federation was to be hosted by us in Chennai, on 18th and 19th of June 2022, for the first time since the formation of the Federation.  We in the secretariat were busy till 4th June preparing ourselves for   conducting our AGM.  Conducting a meeting while in service and after retirement is wrought with lot of difficulties, like planning,  assembling resources, organizing, and conducting.  Age is a big problematic factor followed by material collection forming a  group to conduct etc., which I am sure you are all conscious of.

All these stared at our faces on the very next day when our AGM was concluded. The General Council being just a fortnight away,  fixing the place and making other arrangements etc. exhibited a real tough time for us.  Thanks to the physical cooperation of many of our office bearers, members and the encouragement from many wishing us, enlisting their moral support,   made us conduct the meeting in a very successful manner with all-around praise.

Once again I seek your forgiveness for the delayed communication. I shall send the report of the proceedings of our AGM, and send the receipts for the contribution from members by cash or cheques or NEFT transfer, in another four or five days. The shields for the members who completed age 75+ but were not able to attend the AGM are to be sent. All these take a stretch of time. Please bear with me till such period, I organize myself and complete the work entrusted to me.

Thank you for your patience.

V.R.KRISHNAN

SECRETARY

Appeal by Sridharan G.N 6:02 PM (13 minutes ago) FAITH AND PRAYER  deserve to be considered as one of the weapons to fight the virus menace. It is  not without purpose that even the Westerners believe in the old dictum - 'many things are wrought by prayers'. Gandhiji said that the tenets of Hindu religion and faith has universal application .Our ancient texts do prescribe prayers as a panacea for all human ailments. For instance in Mahabharata - vide Dwadasa nama pancharam an appendix to Vishnu Sahasranamam - a sloka in the words of Bishma pitamah runs as follows: "Achyutha,Anantha,Govinda namocharana beshajath nasyanti sakala rohath ,Satyam satyam vadhamyaham" That is, he swears that uttering the various names of the Lord will cure a person  of  ALL his diseases. In another sloka it is said that even water from holy Ganga can be good enough a medicine (oushadam) if only we believe the Lord (sriman Narayana) as the doctor.(vaidy
