Friends,

It is with deep regret that we write to inform you all that one of our very senior members and a sincere activist of our Association Shri C.N.Ranganathan (membership No.21) passed away suddenly yesterday afternoon. A man of soft speech and an example of how a person even after retiring from active official service, can lead his life,  is no more. Whenever we bring out our membership directory he used to contribute to cover a portion of  the cost by providing an advertisement. He used to call us often and enquire about the activities of the Association and the Federation. Recently during the middle of last month, after Pongal Greetings,  when we contacted him and told him that this year, after a lapse of five years,  we intend to bring out a revised one,  he had voluntarily agreed for a similar contribution. But God has willed otherwise.

It is a great loss to all of us who had known him for decades. We pray lord for the soul to attain Moksha!!  Ohm Shanthi!!!

Message from Our Founder President Shri G.N.Sridharan

The passing away yesterday (10/2/2022) of shri CN Ranganathan (popularly known to all connected with LIC as CNR) sadly marks for me  the snapping of a strong friendship of more than half a century.

CNR will  always be a standing example of how one can  be active even after retirement  and be of service to people at large. He was instrumental in the formation and growth of Bhaggyalakhmi Nidhi Ltd. which  was started as a small mutual Benefit fund and is now an RBI-approved Nidhi company. On a personal level, the regard and affection he had for me can never be forgotten. Even till last three years he unfailingly used to call on me during the month of January to personally greet me and hand over personally the complimentary calendar of his company. A person of strong convictions but simple and honest to the core always travelling in his two-wheeler to meet his old friends like me.

He leaves behind his wife and two sons. May his soul rest in peace.  Om Shanti!!

- GN Sridharan

Appeal by Sridharan G.N 6:02 PM (13 minutes ago) FAITH AND PRAYER  deserve to be considered as one of the weapons to fight the virus menace. It is  not without purpose that even the Westerners believe in the old dictum - 'many things are wrought by prayers'. Gandhiji said that the tenets of Hindu religion and faith has universal application .Our ancient texts do prescribe prayers as a panacea for all human ailments. For instance in Mahabharata - vide Dwadasa nama pancharam an appendix to Vishnu Sahasranamam - a sloka in the words of Bishma pitamah runs as follows: "Achyutha,Anantha,Govinda namocharana beshajath nasyanti sakala rohath ,Satyam satyam vadhamyaham" That is, he swears that uttering the various names of the Lord will cure a person  of  ALL his diseases. In another sloka it is said that even water from holy Ganga can be good enough a medicine (oushadam) if only we believe the Lord (sriman Narayana) as the doctor.(vaidy
