Dear Friends,

Reg: Feed-back given on Mediclaim ....

Dear Friends,

We are already nearing one month into the New Year, and yet not seeing the light of day on our principal matters. But then it may be well to remember that matters rest with the Govt. and there is no guessing what is a priority with them and when. And as Pensioners, we do not pose a pressure group to hurry them into taking decisions on our matters, moving out of their own priorities.

Pressures are constantly built by various Pensioner groups, and the Govt. cannot afford to overlook these issues for too long. Very recently, the Retired Development Officers Welfare Association of Kolkata has written to the PM on all important pending matters of pensioners (Copy enclosed).

So it is a matter of time before Govt., does move into some kind of action. Patience is a big virtue, but the problem with this group of ours is that nature and time may not combine to exhibit the same virtue to keep the whole group going intact for that time ! But then we have no other alternative except to wait for our day. It is pretty strange that the Court Case too is playing out the same game with us, when we thought we could force the issue through its intervention!

Meanwhile, we thought we could send in a feed-back to the CO on the Mediclaim experience of the retirees, so that while discussing with the New India Insurance Co for renewing the contract for 2022-23, these could be factored in. The letter sent a couple of days back, was primarily addressed to the ED (P) Sri Dubey, and copies sent to the MD Sri Patnaik, ED (E&OS) Smt Uma Rao. This letter is also being reproduced, as attachment,  here for your information.

We have received a message from our Federation Treasurer Shri R M Dalal regarding the yearly subscription due from the affiliated units.

The yearly subscription @ Rs.25 per member is to be sent to the Federation and so far Thiruvananthapuram, Delhi, Ernakulam and Kottyam have paid the Subscription for the current year. The units are requested to expedite. After making the payment,  Associations  are to send  whatsapp messages  to the Treasurer Shri R.M.Dalal  and Shri Pathak.

Appeal by Sridharan G.N 6:02 PM (13 minutes ago) FAITH AND PRAYER  deserve to be considered as one of the weapons to fight the virus menace. It is  not without purpose that even the Westerners believe in the old dictum - 'many things are wrought by prayers'. Gandhiji said that the tenets of Hindu religion and faith has universal application .Our ancient texts do prescribe prayers as a panacea for all human ailments. For instance in Mahabharata - vide Dwadasa nama pancharam an appendix to Vishnu Sahasranamam - a sloka in the words of Bishma pitamah runs as follows: "Achyutha,Anantha,Govinda namocharana beshajath nasyanti sakala rohath ,Satyam satyam vadhamyaham" That is, he swears that uttering the various names of the Lord will cure a person  of  ALL his diseases. In another sloka it is said that even water from holy Ganga can be good enough a medicine (oushadam) if only we believe the Lord (sriman Narayana) as the doctor.(vaidy
