The story of Dr.KK.Agarwal, a former President of IMA died even after two dosages. But how ? There is a clarification. So WEAR THE MASK , EVEN WHEN YOU HAVE RECEIVED BOTH DOSES
Edit — As per reports, antibodies weren't built in his body after vaccination. This could possibly be because of 4 weeks gap between his two doses, first being in Feb. Now doctors have confirmed that the effect of vaccination is more when gap between two doses is 12 weeks.
He also had crohn's disease and previously suffered from chronic pulmonary embolism
Dr. KK Aggarwal, a former president of the Indian Medical Association and a prominent face of the medical fraternity in the country, died last night of Covid. The Padma Shri award winner had been on ventilator support at Delhi's AIIMS hospital for the past few days.
Dr Aggarwal, 62, died at 11.30 pm on Monday “after a lengthy battle with Covid”, said an official statement on his Twitter account. He had taken both vaccine doses.
While he was alive, he taught us a lot of important things about Covid. His death has also taught us many lessons or at least reinforced what doctors were saying:
- You can get infected even after getting both doses of Vaccine. Vaccination is not a shied against getting infected.
- It is not 100% guarantee that vaccine will save you from dying. No vaccine has 100% efficacy.
- It takes time before immunity is built in body against Covid. It's not a magic wand.
- Masks, social distancing and sanitizers are still important for us.
- Doctors are dying while trying to save us.
- If Corona turns severe, even best medical facilities may not be able to save you.
In short, proud of him. We must learn from his death.
Thanks for reading.
