Our President's condolence message
Shri CTG passes away
With a heavy heart, I have to report the sad news of the demise of Shri CT Gopalaratnam at about 3 pm yesterday (27/5). His son Suresh called me up early today to convey that his father succumbed to the deadly covid virus.
CTG as he was popularly known in LIC circles was close to me in several ways. He was with me in the legal Dept of ZO and was also a a resident of my Karpagam Gardens colony for a long time. I cannot forget the several occasions when he came forward to help me personally.
CTG was a person who would go out of the way to help people. A highly principled person he was a strong defender of pensioners ' rights.
He leaves behind his wife and son to mourn his loss. In this hour of bereavement,
my thoughts are with them . May his soul rest in peace.
Om shanti!
- GN Sridharan - President
