It has been an unpleasant experience for all of us that since last couple of months we are hearing the sad news of the demise of some colleague or other at regular intervals. The latest one on the passing away of Mangudi Sritharan today (19/9) came to me as a rude shock.
Mangudi was a very jovial person and a humorous conversationalist. His pleasent manners endeared him to anyone coming in contact with him. He had lost his wife only about two months back and I knew he was somewhat depressed since then. They were a loving but childless couple.
A person with a history of cardiac surgery in the past he reportedly suffered a stroke ( possibly triggered by emotional stress) a couple of days back and was hospitalized where he breathed his last this morning. To me personally he was more than an admirer/friend and always used to express his wish that I 'should continue at the helm of our Association/ federation as long as 'i am able to work! That was his attachment to me.
He was an ardent devotee of Sri Varadaraja Perumal of Kancheepuram.Let us pray for his soul to attain eternal SHANTHI.

THE EDITOR OF THIS BLOG AT OUR ZTC, CHENNAI. A VERY FLOWERY ORATOR WITH AN INDEPTH KNOWLEDGE IN SEVERAL DISCIPLINES, OUTSIDE OUR OWN SPHERE OF INSURANCE. HIS LECTURES ON NLP, (NEURO LINGUISTIC PROGRAM, ) EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE ETC., DREW A LOT OF APPRECIATIONS FROM THE AUDIENCE.
IT IS A TERRIFIC LOSS, UNBELIEVABLE. WE JUST SPOKE A FORTNIGHT AGO. HE JUST SAID HE WAS UNWELL AND WAS NOT SO COMFORTABLE IN CONTINUING , AS I FELT HE WAS DEPRESSED A LOT.
I STAND BYTHE SIDE OF OUR G N S SIR, TO OFFER MY CONDOLENCES.
MAY HIS SOUL REST IN PEACE.
SURY.
