I have already cautioned the present leadership of federation ....writes GNS

I am tempted to send this mail after going through two of the recent posts in your blog.

One relates to the indication of a favourable trend in regard to up gradation of pensions in the banking sector following the recent talks between IBA and and an apex organization of bank pensioners.
As long as it is the "policy" of the govt to club insurance & banking in the matter of the emoluments of the workforce/pensioners in both sectors, we should realise that judiciary will not interefere with policy decisions. I have with my experience always felt that when once up gradation is okayed for bank pensioners LIC pensioners will also be similarly benefitted before long. That is why I have been expressing that hyper activism in pushing forward the pending litigation is perhaps not warranted in our case at this point of time.

The other one carries a full list of 92-93 retirees.Good. As far as I know Shri MC Jain had gone to the HC at Jaipur by a single writ raising two different pleas viz. (a) for granting him the benefit revised basic pay in terms of the wage revision effected from 1/8/92 notified in 1966 as he was very much in service on 1/8/92 & (b) for granting him weightage for arriving at his total period of service for full pension eligibility on the basis of his special category recruitment conditions applicable to him.The court allowed his plea (a) and rejected plea(b) . The finality on the said Jaipur verdict was reached when Supreme court dismissed SLP filed by LIC.

The matters involved in the pettirions before the Kerala HC relate only to the original plea (a) of Mr. MC Jain which survives at SC level.

While so I am surprised at the suggestion made by your concerned correspondent to contact him if there are are others amongst his 92- 93 list who had been recruited under the special category claimed by MC Jain in his original petition before Jaipur HC so that 'it may be conveyed to Kerala HC.

This in my humble view is totally unwarranted as efforts are on in Kerala litigation only for securing relief (a) as already extended to shri MC Jain.LIC is already attempting to mislead Kerala HC by bringing in the special category theory. To bring to the notice of the Kerala HC that there are others also under SPL. Category will harm our stand before the said Kerala HC in getting relief on (a)

. For what it is worth I have already cautioned the present leadership of federation of Retd LIC class 1 officers which is an  impleaded party in the Kerala petitions against any such move suggested through your blog .

Appeal by Sridharan G.N 6:02 PM (13 minutes ago) FAITH AND PRAYER  deserve to be considered as one of the weapons to fight the virus menace. It is  not without purpose that even the Westerners believe in the old dictum - 'many things are wrought by prayers'. Gandhiji said that the tenets of Hindu religion and faith has universal application .Our ancient texts do prescribe prayers as a panacea for all human ailments. For instance in Mahabharata - vide Dwadasa nama pancharam an appendix to Vishnu Sahasranamam - a sloka in the words of Bishma pitamah runs as follows: "Achyutha,Anantha,Govinda namocharana beshajath nasyanti sakala rohath ,Satyam satyam vadhamyaham" That is, he swears that uttering the various names of the Lord will cure a person  of  ALL his diseases. In another sloka it is said that even water from holy Ganga can be good enough a medicine (oushadam) if only we believe the Lord (sriman Narayana) as the doctor.(vaidy
