Shri P..Ramanathan no more. GNS offers condolences.

G N Sridharan writes: It is once again a sad news for all of us. Shri P Ramanathan passed away suddenly this afternoon (3 45 PM- 10/2/2020)  Reports reaching me reveal that he was taken to VHS hospital for an operation for Hernia but he had developed breathing problem.Tests on him reportedly found him suffering from tumor of lungs and was advised to be taken to Apollo Hospital for treatment but he unfortunately expired before any treatment could be given. A very knowledgeable person who always excelled in projecting the glorious traditions of Kerala, shri Ramanathan was an officer of quiet efficiency in LIC.After retirement he was vociferous in espousing the causes of pensioners. People like me know very well that he was single handedly fighting for the inclusion of dental treatment in the medical sc

Report on hearing held on 5/2/2020 in SC On 5/2/2020 Report on hearing held on 5/2/2020 in SC On 5/2/2020, like other representatives of the petitioners, I was feeling disappointed and sad while coming out of the Court Room no. 14 after adjournment of our cases to 19th Feb 2020. We reached New Delhi on 3rd Feb. 2020 and did a lot of spade work for the hearings of our cases on 5/2/20202 in SC. As agreed, representatives of 4 petitioners (AIRIEF, Federation of Retired LIC Class 1 Officers Associations, Retd LIC Class 1 Officers Association, Hyd and ML Gandhi & Ors) met on 4/2/2020 and shared salient points of the SLPs and agreed for the similar approach to be adopted by the Sr Counsels while advancing their arguments. It was a brief but highly focused meeting. Our meeting with the Sr Advocate was quite satisfying. The Sr Advocate has already prepared his notes based on our earlier meeting. This in short is what took place in Court no 14 of the SC today.

Friends, Sorry once again it is the same story of Adjournment, and this time to 19th Feb. 2020. Shri Asthana had circulated a request to Court for Adjournment due to personal ill health reasons. Since this was not served on all other respondents it was incumbent on the Bench to allow it. Actually submissions before the Bench started, when Counsel Sri Nidesh Gupta, said that he was fully prepared to proceed though there was an adjournment request from one of the petitioners. Our Counsel also joined in to say the implementation of the DHC Order was not complete. LIC counsel undertook to file a status report on implementation very shortly. The Court Allowed it. Before proceeding further, the UOI advocate reminded the Bench about the adjournment notice not having been served. The Bench then adjourned the Hearing and posted it for 19th Feb. This in short is
