Friends,
Our Federation President Shri N.P.Bali is no more
It is with our deepest sorrow that we inform you that Sri N P Bali, our sitting President of the Federation has passed away. I understand he was in a rather deteriorating condition overall in the last 15 days and breathed his last night. He had just completed 78 years of age, having crossed his Birthday on the 2nd of December.
As all of you might know, he has been unwell for over a year, having been diagnosed for a malignant Tumor in the Brain in Sept. 2019. Though he did show improvement after a surgery to remove the Tumor, he never really came back to his normal health. In fact, Sri Arunachalam and I had been to his place in Feb 2020, and he could go over to the receiving area of his Flat to sit and talk to us. He appeared cheerful throughout our one-hour long stay at his place and we even took a few pictures with him.
He could not attend our Kolkatta Gen Council Meeting, due to his health problem. He had been requesting us to relieve him of the Post, to enable some other person to take a more active part in the Federation matters.
Sri Bali was a member of the 7th Batch of Direct Recruits and had been a very successful officer who progressed in his career too, to reach the post of ED before his Retirement.
Sri Bali was an extremely affable person with great qualities of Head and Heart. He always believed in going along with people. His stint as President saw him live up to that value by being accepted all around in the Federation. His guidance and Leadership will surely be missed by all of us in the Federation.
On behalf of all of us in the Federation, I pray for his Departed soul.
Yours in Sorrow
D.Krishnan.
