E circular DK/46                                                                                                                       29-10-2018 Friends, Reg: Individual protest letters to Chairman, Collection Drive & Letter to EDs(P) There's been a bit of a gap in time since I communicated last.  The important matters, for the Federation, going now, relate to (1) The Individual Letters of Protest to LIC Chairman on the deficiencies in the Arrears Payment   and (2)           The Collections of money by the Associations on the basis of Call given after the Arrears  Payment  was announced. The Individual letter-campaign has been well responded so far, with a number  of Associations  reporting good numbers of such letters sent to Chairman already. An extremely sad news was in store for me this morning when it was conveyed to me that one of our Sr.members smt GR Vijayalakshmi passed away yesterday (13/10/2018).           'GRV' as she was popularly known was a bold lady with strong convictions and would always forcefully put forth her arguments be it with her colleagues or her superiors. A devoted member of our Chennai Assn she had ,as reported by our Secy Shri VR Krishnan, sent her cheque for RS 3500/ as her contribution for legal fund just on the previous day of her demise    We have indeed lost a valuable bold and affectionate sister. May her soul rest in peace!! GN Sridharan

Ecircular DK-44                                                                                       11 th Oct. 2018    Friends, Sub: Today’s hearing in the supreme court The much awaited Oct 11th,  in SC has virtually drawn a blank! At 11 am I received a call from Sri G N  Sridharan to say the Hearing on our case, for the day, was over! LIC's Compliance Report on the Arrears Payment, had itself owned up some lack of completeness and sought 8 week's time to complete it. Since in today's Hearing the merits ,on the defects in Arrears Payment, was not gone into, I am afraid, even in the next Hearing, the SC may have to adjudicate on complaints from our side vis-a-vis the ones LIC has owned up and processed on its own.         This is not at all a happy turn of events as far as our main issues in the SLP are concerned. And with Sri Madan Lokur, Retiring from end of Dec (virtually from mid Dec as the vacation from 17th Dec will go right up to the end

The case was called as scheduled today.our Sr counsel drew the attention of the court LiC's shoddy implementation of the Delhi order.The Sr.counsel appearing for LIC repeated the plea for further .Our SR counsel pointed out that Delhi HC itself had granted  9 +3 months time already and 2 months time from SC and still they are they are asking for further time .The court then granted SIX weeks time to LIC to rectify the defects .We may therefore expect the matter to be listed only aft

As you know we are moving  into the next phase in our major litigation in the SC. We would really have  liked to go ahead with the most important agenda of Revision/up-gradation,   as a 'do or die' battle for the Pensioner community. When we look  around us, we find that the central Govt Pensioners, get a periodic  adjustment to keep the principle of 'Parity' with the later date retirees.  The Central Govt. pension rules 1972 does not include a clause for such  Revision. The In-service employees of LIC too get a 5 yearly Revision  though there is no backing in the Staff Regulations to enable this .   So 'no Rule', is really no rule,  to rule out, on our demand for Revision.  Further, it
