Dear Friends,
Greetings from the Retired LIC Class I Officers’ Association Chennai.
----News from Federation---
We are informed that the SLP (C) 21206/2017 filed by the Federation in the Supreme court against the Delhi HC judgement on the twin issues of DR anomaly and up gradation of pension is posted for hearing on 13/10/2017 as per advance list.
As regards the issue concerning 92-93 retirees, steps are being taken to get ourselves impleaded in the pending Writ Petition in Kerala HC filed by individuals. Besides, expert Legal opinion is also being sought on directly approaching the Supreme court and seek implementation of orders in M C Jain's case to all similarly placed pensioners. Final action will therefore be taken on this matter before the end of this month.
We had sent two appeals so far to our members regarding the contribution for the legal expenses, incurred and to be incurred.
As you are all well aware, meeting out anything legally is a costly affair, especially higher the forum more the expenses.
Though we are not in any way responsible for the legal entanglement, circumstances force us for legal remedy when any other manner of trying for an amicable settlement fails to produce any result.
Despite our two appeals for donation, only about 120 members had responded, which is just one third of our total effective membership
In the recent committee meeting of the Chennai Association, it was decided to appeal once again to our members. The appeal is enclosed.
Please arrange to send your contribution before 23rd September 2017.
Please also help us in adding new members by informing any of your retired class I Officer friend or ex-colleague, who has not become our member so far.
You may please phone or send SMS or email to any of the office bearers furnishing the details of the retired class I officer, whom we shall contact .
Thank you.
