GN SRIDHARAN WRITES:
As already informed, we are constantly pursuing this issue with the Central Office.
A delegation led by our President Shri Bali had stressed the need for doing justice to the small group of affected pensioners (only Class I retirees )
. We would like to inform that as a follow up our Jt.Secy at Mumbai Shri D M Pathak has submitted a memorandum on our behalf on the subject to to the E.D. (Per) on 21/7/2016 reiterating that it is not fair to deny this small group the extension of the benefit arising out of the Jaipur HC judgement in MC Jain's case.
Copies of the same are being sent to the units who had sent to us in the past the list of their members falling under this category. Others are requested to send their list to us immediately.
We are aware that LIC has not settled the correct amount to Shri MC Jain himself as is being repeatedly pointed out by others.
Our members will appreciate that we are now on the job of getting a commitment for applying the verdict in MC Jain's case to all similarly placed pensioners without necessitating our going to the court again on the same issue.
We shall intimate the reaction to our latest communication in due course.
GN Sridharan
Gen Secy. Federation of Retd LIC Class I Officers' Assns.
