Federation of Retired LIC Class I Officers' Associations   Fedn e circular DK-38                                                                   Sept 6,  2018 Friends, Disbursement of arrears of DR collection drive              We are now passing through a period of frustrating moves by LIC, in carrying out the DHC mandate, by first withholding payment orders , and then releasing the payment of Arrears,  after deducting the 40% paid earlier, quite against the DHC directions, not to recover the old, interim amount paid. We have unequivocally conveyed our strong protest to the Management on these measures which do not speak of trust or straightforwardness. The amounts so received by all of you is under Protest. I thought, I should , through this communication, remind the Unit leaderships at the Association levels to get moving on the collection campaign without missing out on the golden hour, i.e. when the amounts are just received by the members.  I may menti

The time was already up. He was seen rushing towards the mirror at the front. Satisifed he looked fine. Turned towards the entrance . The driver was waiting. He knew he had still thirty minutes to reach his official premises. An important meeting.was scheduled to take place where he has to the chair. Hardly he stepped outside, he felt a little discomfort in his chest. In the next few minutes, grew a whirl of writhing pain reverberating into the left arm down to fingers. He sat on the sofa nearby only soon to fall on it. Did not forget to call her however who came running from the nearby hall. An ambulance was called . Everything was happening. perhaps in God's speed. Nearby was Jaslok Hospital and the stretcher was seen to be rushing towards the emergency. Within seconds one could find masks of tubes e a ventilator , oxymeter, an ECG, and a host of others tubes got attached to his body. Did not know who informed whom ? Gopalan Varadarajan 7:48 PM (1 hour ago) to  me My dear Sury It is with a heavy heart, I went through the posting in your blog, by our tall beloved leader and a long -time friend of mine Shri GNS reg the paltry sum of arrears he recd today from our CO. I wholeheartedly share his feelings on the subject. What a shameful fall in the standards of corporate governance while dealing with its own retired elders who had toiled hard for long years to give shape to LIC of what it is today! And that too on the occasion of its 62nd Birth Anniversary Celebrations! Most cruel, unpardonable and unkindest cut of all times! Regards V Gopalan ****************************************************************** THE EDITOR IS TRYING TO CONTACT G N S TO VERIFY ONCE AGAIN HIS BANK ACCOUNT AS HE FEELS GNS MAY HAVE INFORMED US INCORRECTLY, INADVERTENTLY.  THE EDITOR HAS ASKED HIM TO VERIFY WHETHER THE CREDIT IS  RS. 98.98 OR 

This is just to inform that LIC has paid me today a sum of Rs. 9898/ towards arrears on "implementation" of Delhi HC judgement .Of course no personal grievance as I am not a citizen falling  under the BPL (below poverty line)category! What is important to note is that they have of course deducted 40% IR received in terms of the earlier SC orders. While dealing with the matter in the 'clarification' part (para 108 of the jugement)the Delhi HC  has clearly meant that 40% has to be treated as property already vested in the pensioners and had also spelt out the reasons for treating it so,the operative part (para 107) carrying specific directions to LIC does not make a mention of it in specific terms. Evidently LIC must have taken "Legal advice" that they have no obligation to follow 'obiters' in the judgement and that there will be technical compliance if they follow the "directions" of the court in letter if not in spirit!!
