The l...........o..............n.............g awaited circular of our Federation ..is before you. Thank U Sri Krishnan .

Ecircular No.DK/22                         12-05-2018    Friends , After a flurry of e-circulars, in quick succession, going up to no DK 21, covering the report on matters in SC leading up to further date fixed for Hearing on 24-7-2018, there seems to have been a lull on the communication front. Yes, I have been travelling, for one, and for another I have been busy grappling with some persistent medical issues in the family. I have so far attended 4 Annual General Body Meetings of 4 Association Units covering Thiruvananthapuram, Chennai, Ernakulam and Thrissur in that order. I found members very eager to see the end of our SC litigation and get some good results. Instead of just telling them on matters at the logistical, and periphery levels, regarding dates for Hearing , their constant postponement, briefing of our Counsels etc., I felt,  I should let our members know about the kind of issues that are being handled in the  case in SC.      I thought  they should have their

seniors vs seniors !!!

The News of the election of Mahathir Mohd as the Prime Minister of Malaysia when he is 92 conveys a message  of great significance to not only the citizens of that country but to all senior citizens all over the world. Majority segment of the population of that country which  comprises of three different ethnic groups almost like Singapore would not have voted him to power unless they were convinced that he is physically mobile and mentally alert needed for holding the high office. Hence no discriminative approach on grounds of age.                  In contrast what is happening in our country? A  person is considered  as good for nothing the moment he crosses 75 which  is perceived  to be an advanced age.   Seniors with Chronic conditions like diabetes confine themselves to their homes without even attempting to do any physical activity or indulge in some mental exercise to the extent they can because they develop a complex of their own. .This is simply 'self condemnation'

A story never to end perhaps

The cell cried menacingly. . Disturbingly, ,though, as I had to keenly keep my eyes fixed on the milk . It had reached its boiling point already. It would bounce any moment and flow and fall   outside the vessel . In a flash, I switched off the stove, took the cell  said : Hello... A voice never unfamiliar  asked me : Do you remember this voice !! Love and Empathy were abundant in his tone and modulation, though, to my knowledge,  he never wore a HRD cap. "Yes. I do..." I said, as I continued..." How are you ?" "I am fine.  You know why I rang u up...?" Frankly, I did not. I could not also feign.  Before I could say yes or no, he said: I saw the blog yesterday. "you mean...that....." :"Yes...I am referring to the same old lift man and your conversation with him...." I was getting curious as to what would he say. In the last few days, more than a dozen had called me  on this subject.... "Frankly, sury ! That o

"I WAS SURPRISED WHEN I FOUND A CREDIT OF RS.31000 IN MY BANK AC......"  "Is it !! ..You must be so lucky ...:" .I said to  my  good friend, who was not more aged than me. He was just 79. "But alas ! the surprise lasted only a few seconds. My wife made me recollect that it was my pension from my own LIC ...." "Possibly the delay in the credit last April would be the reason....." I said. "Perhaps No.  A few months earlier, someone in the park where I perambulate in the evenings sought my name....You know...I struggled....I could not recollect my own name......" "Possibly, you must be having some sort of dementia..." "I consulted my doc. He said it is just ageing..."  "True. When you age, you have a tendency to forget.  ... you know.....our LIC also appears to have forgotten  we were also employees once....." He laughed wryly.  FORGETFULNESS AND AGEING ARE SOMEWHAT LIKE BOSSES AND THEIR
