Sometime
back we sent a circular regarding the salient features of
the Mediclaim, issued by our Central office. The Master
policy has been released and the same is enclosed as
attachment, for your reference. There are some
improvements, may not be perceptible or appreciable. We
furnish below the differences between the Group Mediclaim
Policy of 2019-20 and 2020-21
1. The
provisional premium paid by the LIC employees, retirees,
pensioners, family pensioners etc. for 2019-20 was Rs.376
crores whereas the provisional premium payable for the year
2020-21 is Rs.434 crores an increase of 15.4% (this includes
the increase in premium of 11.74%)
2. Room,
Boarding expenses per
day show an increase as below.
------- Class
A cities for sum insured upto 30 lacs no change. Only
1.5% of S.I. subject to Max. of Rs.7500 per day. For Sum
Insured 40 lacs and 50 lacs, room rent is increased from
Rs. 9000 to Rs.10000.
------ Class
B cities increased from Rs.5000 to Rs.6000 per day
------ Others -
No change only Rs.4000.
3. In
the classification of cities,
(Refer Annexure A) certain cities are upgraded to class
A.
Chandigarh,
Mohali and Panchkula classified as Chandigarh Tricity as
Class A cities, Jaipur upgraded as Class A city.
Bhubaneswar upgraded as B class city (But the twin city Cuttack
is not upgraded). Manimazra, classified as B class in
last year, (being part of Chandigarh) merged with Chandigarh.
No other change.
4. The
Service Provider in International Second Medical Opinion is
changed from Mediguide International LLC Mediguide India
Services India Private Ltd to MD India Health care Networks
Private Ltd.,
5. The
TPAs of Northern Zone and East Central Zone have been
changed. Southern
Zone TPA is the same, --- Vidal Health TPA Private Ltd.,
6. Under
the Heading ‘C’ Expenses
relating to Diagnostic Tests without hospitalisation the
fees reimbursable are increased for certain tests. We shall
give the details when we deal with that subject.
7. In
‘D’ sublimit clause the reimbursement of Ambulance
charges are subject to submission of proper bill only.
8. A
new clause No.11 is added to the sublimit clause
providing reimbursement of hospitalisation
expenses for Psychiatric and Psychosomatic disorder upto a
sublimit of Rs. 50000 per
member per year, only during the stay in the hospital.
The pre- hospitalisation expenses for 30 days, post
hospitalisation expenses upto 60 days as also the
counselling/consultation charges are not payable.
9. Under
‘F’ exclusions, item No.X. regarding Sexually Transmitted
Diseases etc. stands deleted.
10. Under
‘G’ definitions, clause no.19, the monthly
income for the financially dependent person, on
the employee/retired employee is increased to
Rs. 10530 from Rs.9810

Appeal by Sridharan G.N 6:02 PM (13 minutes ago) FAITH AND PRAYER deserve to be considered as one of the weapons to fight the virus menace. It is not without purpose that even the Westerners believe in the old dictum - 'many things are wrought by prayers'. Gandhiji said that the tenets of Hindu religion and faith has universal application .Our ancient texts do prescribe prayers as a panacea for all human ailments. For instance in Mahabharata - vide Dwadasa nama pancharam an appendix to Vishnu Sahasranamam - a sloka in the words of Bishma pitamah runs as follows: "Achyutha,Anantha,Govinda namocharana beshajath nasyanti sakala rohath ,Satyam satyam vadhamyaham" That is, he swears that uttering the various names of the Lord will cure a person of ALL his diseases.In another sloka it is said that even water from holy Ganga can be good enough a medicine (oushadam) if only we believe the Lord (sriman Narayana) as the doctor.(vaid...
