The Good News : "......................understand reliably that the Hyderabad Association met in their Gen. Body on the 28th of Dec 2019 and that they will re-join the Federation"

Reg: New Year Hopes ...
First of all my Greetings to all of you, as the New Year 2020 has just set in, and is on its first day. Every New Year in the past has held out hopes of bringing in a better tomorrow, and for sure humanity all over, has registered newer horizons, in terms of the quality of living. This year again, it did promise to start out on a positive note, for us pensioners in particular, with the Bank Negotiations reaching, what looked like, the final stretch.
Information through Bank Employees' Circulars released on the 31st of Dec. 2019, ie., yesterday, did come out with a list of items on which finality was reached. All these items, mostly, pertain to the monetary increases for the current employees. There is a whole list of non-monetary things too like Leave, School admissions for transferred employees etc, where indications are positive, but no finality is reached.
In that list of items lies the Pension Revision matter too! The positive thing is that, this demand has not met with a clear 'no'. The IBA says, the costing aspect will once again be examined. Is that anything to go by for us, Pensioners, in the LIC? I am not clear how it would pan out for us if the Negotiations in the LIC do take place at this stage. The real hope was that some clear form of settlement will be reached in the Bank Negotiations and to that extent we could try and push our case too.
I have also written again to Sri Raj Kumar, General Secretary of the LIC in-service Class I Federation, asking him to include our Pension Revision matter in their talks with the LIC Management. He has readily responded saying they have already put it on their list for Talks with the Management.
It would perhaps be better advised now, to look at our Court Case, and see how the points can be presented in a way the Court takes serious note of the inequalities that has come over in the sphere of our Pensions. Not that we can overly depend on this source, to get us what we want, but just that, with nothing better spotted in the horizon, we could as well go the whole hog and see where it takes us.
Meanwhile, on the Mediclaim aspects, I did have a talk over phone, with the ED E&OS of CO, who wanted me to first send in the list of points on our agenda, and then go over for discussions if the need is still felt. He wants to take up first with the New India Insurance Co and then talk to us. We should be sending our points very shortly.
I understand reliably that the Hyderabad Association met in their Gen. Body on the 28th of Dec 2019 and that, in principle, they have taken a position, that they will re-join the Federation, subject to a number of factors being squared up in discussion with us. We will await news from them in greater detail.
With my New Year Wishes to all, once again ...
