Ecircular No.DK/54 27-02-2019
Friends,
It's quite some time since I last communicated with you through DK 53. There hasn't been much happening around and therefore much less to Report. The Supreme Court Dates have been playing truant and has kept us continually guessing as to when it would really come off. It's been like a mirage , which keeps going at a distance, and as you near, it's moved off further. The current position , is March 12th 2019, and again a computer generated date with no certainty it's real.! We are not even clear if the Bench that will Hear our Case has been re-constituted. If it's a new Bench, chances are, we may need to get them briefed as to the labyrinthine paths it has moved so far, to reach where we are. We shall certainly keep you posted as soon as there is solid information as to the formation of our Bench as also a Date that turns out true.
Meanwhile there have been calls asking if the second Option for Pension has been officially allowed by the Govt. The cause for such enquiries happens to be a Circular of the BMS Union thanking Sri Arun Jaitley, Honourable Finance Minister for allowing the second Option for Pension, which has been under request from all corners for quite some time now. Our members too might remember that Sri Roy , Chairman , had sent in a recommendatory letter to the Finance Ministry saying, LIC can well stand the additional financial strain on account of such option being given. That of course was in 2016. But then, there has been no official word from any authentic source on this matter. But chances are that the decision would have been taken in the ministry and the official communication on this yet to come.
Here then is the copy of that BMS Circular which has given reason for our members raising this point:
With Greetings,
D.Krishnan
General Secretary
