TODAY AT SUPREME COURT ....G N S INFORMS

Sub: Today at Supreme Court ( 14/8/2017 ) We are informed by our sources that SLP filed by AIIPA came up today as listed and since the petitioners counsel has already circulated a letter for adjournment of the matter by 12 weeks, the Court ordered SLP being listed on  10/11/2017 without admission. As regards the petition by Hyderabad Association who have filed an application for condoning the delay, their matter is also adjourned to the same date. We are awaiting numbering of SLP filed by us. Sub: Meeting with leaders of other organizations We have been repeatedly informing that we are in touch with AIRIF and AIIPA. As part of that exercise, a meeting has been arranged at Bangalore  tomorrow  ( 15/8/2017 ) which is expected to be attended by Shri G Krishnaswamy,  General Secretary of AIREF and Sri K Natarajan Senior Vice President of AIIPA. Our Federation will be represented by three of our Legal Committee members, viz., myself, Shri R Rajagopalan and Sri M Arunacha

Follow up of other Legal matters It is natural that with the SLP having been filed we have started receiving enquiries on other matters requiring judicial remedy. One of them is the vexed problem relating to the re- fixation of pensions for those who had retired between 1/8/92 and 31/3/93. We note that we have three or four options to proceed legally. 1) Go straight to the Supreme Court by filing a Writ under the Constitution seeking a direction that the order in MC Jain's case be extended to all pensioners who had retired during the period in question. (Apart from the cost aspect it should be noted invoking the dir

G N S writes to inform

Our SLP stands filed in Supreme Court As we had already advised all through our flash messages, we filed our SLP in the SC yesterday (31/7 - Diary No. 22862/2017 .  We are advised by our counsel that after scrutiny by the registry the matter will be numbered and since all parties have filed their papers, the process will take four or five days. Thereafter the SLPs will be listed for admission in 10 to 15 days. We apprehended that our matter may be clubbed with other SLPs on the issue of 100% neutralization of Bank retirees (a hearing of their case is posted for today also) but our counsel is of the firm view that it may not happen. We will have in any case to wait for about two weeks to know the progress at court level. Meantime we shall continue to interact with the leadership of the other organisations viz. AIIPA & AIIREF to explore the possibility of a common approach .We anticipate no problem in the SLPs being converted into regular appeals and we feel effective c
