No Sir ! The question is NOT whether RP or SLP. It is Hildolam or Malkauns ?

That is Ok. But what we shall be doing till they decide finally ?

A response from a devotee (sorry!) , follower of GNS:

That's ok. Sridharan! But the S C will decide the case only by 2020 ? Till then what shall I be doing?......! "

I jumped into the conversation.

Earlier a team of our sister entity AIRIEF comprising of their President, Shri S Saxena, General Secretary Shri GS Krishnaswamy, their other leader and Petitiner at Jaipur, Shri KML Asthana and a host of their activists were with us for detailed discussion on the modalities of coordinating our action on the course of further steps to be imitated over the Judgement of DHC. It was conveyed to us their organization will file SLP in preference to Review Petition. After mutual exchange of views, it was decided that in view of procedural necessity of each Petitioner filing separate SLPs (individually), we shall proceed with that part of action first, at an appropriate near future.  We will exchange notes so that cohesive steps are taken in the conduct of the cases. With regard to engaging a common senior counsel, which involve issues like choice and cost, it will be considered at the appropriate time.

It was suggested that Shri GN Sridharan discusses with AIIPA similarly on the issue. Displaying 2017-05-27-PHOTO-00000013.jpg

Thereafter, our meeting commenced. After threadbare discussion on all connected matters, the following decisions were taken unanimously.Displaying 2017-05-27-PHOTO-00000017.jpg

4.       A Legal Notice will be sent to LIC of India calling upon them to immediately extend the benefit of re-fixation of pension for the retirees of 1992-93, based on the decision in the MC Jain case at the Apex Court.  Appropriate further action will follow on the response to the Notice.;

Is it possible that the moon core is full of diamond and gold?

Actually, Moon has something better than gold and diamonds ;) It’s not in the core, however. And it’s not a solid body like gold or diamond. It is a helium isotope - He3, that came with the solar wind and got adsorbed in the porous rocks at the Moon’s surface. Several years ago a liter of gaseous He3 was worth over 5000$… Get it? LITER OF GAS. If you liquefy it you get one milliliter…
A mere droplet (that actually needs a temperature of -270 Celsius degrees to exist).
And still nobody wants to sell it!
He3 is used in neutron detectors at the airports, for some medical diagnostics, in low temperature science and could be used to produce INSANE amounts of energy through the nuclear fusion process. If we only had enough of it…

There are crazy plans to travel to the moon to extract He3 and bring it back here.
I doubt anybody would move their ass so far away for a couple of diamonds.

This is how reality beats even the most crazy dreams ;)

Just 2 Weeks on the Couch Can Trigger Body's Decline

News Picture: Just 2 Weeks on the Couch Can Trigger Body's DeclineBy Steven Reinberg
HealthDay Reporter
WEDNESDAY, May 17, 2017 (HealthDay News) -- Taking a short break from an active lifestyle may do more harm than most people might think, a new study warns.
Just two weeks of sedentary behavior can cause healthy, young people to start losing muscle and develop fat around their organs. And this can increase their risk for conditions such as heart disease and type 2 diabetes that could eventually lead to a premature death, British researchers report.
"What's alarming about this study is that it was done in healthy volunteers. They were not patients or overweight or had risks for type 2 diabetes," said lead researcher Kelly Bowden-Davies, from the Institute of Aging and Chronic Disease at the University of Liverpool.
"In 14 days we see small, but significant, changes in markers that predispose people to risk," she said.
In the study, people were asked to limit their physical activity for two weeks. This included taking the elevator instead of the stairs, taking a bus instead of walking and staying at home more than usual, Bowden-Davies said.
After two weeks of a sedentary life, participants lost nearly a pound of lean muscle mass and gained body fat. The increase in body fat tended to be in the belly, a major risk factor for developing chronic diseases.
In addition, fitness levels dropped sharply, and participants were not able to run for as long or at the same intensity as they had before, the researchers found.
Mitochondrial function, which is the ability of cells to regulate energy, also dropped, but the change was not statistically significant, the study authors noted.
"Globally, people are becoming more and more inactive due to technology, public transport, escalators and elevators, and machines that do what we used to do day to day," Bowden-Davies said.
The good news is that after going back to an active lifestyle, all these changes were reversed and returned to normal within two weeks, she said.
"The negative effect of an inactive lifestyle can be reversed when we become active again," Bowden-Davies said.
Going to the gym a couple of times a week, however, won't reverse the trends of an otherwise sedentary life, she said. Exercise is good, but you need to be active all day, which includes being on your feet and taking walk breaks, Bowden-Davies said.
The problem is more severe in older people who have a sedentary lifestyle and are probably in worse shape than younger people, she said. But it's never too late to change your lifestyle and see improvements in your health.
The findings were to be presented Wednesday at the European Congress on Obesity, in Porto, Portugal. Research presented at meetings is considered preliminary until published in a peer-reviewed journal.
According to Dr. Minisha Sood, an endocrinologist at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City, "We've known all along that being sedentary will increase the risk of gaining fat and losing muscle, and overall poorer health." Sood was not involved with the new study but is familiar with the findings.
"What's novel about this study is that it emphasizes how little time it takes of a sedentary life to start to see those changes," she added.
But Sood wasn't sure that going back to an active lifestyle would reverse all of the damage a sedentary period causes. Some of these changes may be permanent, she said.
"If your goal is to be in optimal health, you shouldn't have a sedentary lifestyle," Sood said. "An active lifestyle is one where physical activity is built into the day, throughout the day."
In addition, different types of exercise -- like resistance training to counter the aging of muscle and cardio training to increase stamina -- are important, Sood said.
"The point is not to hit the gym once or twice a week, but to build an active lifestyle where you are taking walks outside and not sitting all day," she said.
For the study, Bowden-Davies and her colleagues collected data on 28 healthy, physically active people, average age 25, with a normal body weight. The participants walked an average of 10,000 steps per day and all wore an armband that kept track of their physical activity.
At the start of the study, participants were given a medical checkup that included measuring fat and muscle mass, mitochondrial function and physical fitness.
The exam was done two weeks later after the participants had reduced their physical activity by more than 80 percent, to around 1,500 steps per day.
In addition, the participants kept a journal of what and how much they ate to ensure there were no changes in diet throughout the study, Bowden-Davies said.

LIC's profit from Markets soars to Rs.19000 crores in FY 17

LIC’s profit from markets soars by a whopping 72% to Rs 19,000 cr in FY17

The continuing rally in the markets has had the nation's largest financial investor LIC booking a whopping 72 per cent more profit at Rs 19,000 crore from its equity play in FY17.

In FY16, Life Insurance Corporation (LIC), whose total investment stood at around Rs 23 trillion, had booked Rs 11,000 crore profit from the markets.
The continuing rally in the markets has had the nation’s largest financial investor LIC booking a whopping 72 per cent more profit at Rs 19,000 crore from its equity play in FY17, even though its incremental investment into equities has been steadily falling.
In FY16, Life Insurance Corporation (LIC), whose total investment stood at around Rs 23 trillion, had booked Rs 11,000 crore profit from the markets. Recent Sensex rally has helped it book 19 percent more profit in the March quarter alone. During the April-December period of 2016, it had netted Rs 16,000 crore in profit.
Chairman V K Sharma today said the latest number is provisional, as it is yet to be approved by Parliament. Sharma was replying to query on how the Corporation can assure 8 percent annual return on its new product Jeevan Umang that was launched today in a falling interest rate regime.
He defended the assured 8 per cent return on the new product saying on average it nets 7.5 percent from huge exposure of around Rs 18 trillion in government bonds alone.
It can be noted that the Corporation made this stellar gain even as its equity investment, which stood at around Rs 5.11 trillion as of March 2017, have been steadily falling. It slumped to Rs 40,000 crore in FY17, from Rs 50,000 crore in FY16 and a high of Rs 65,000 crore in FY15.
Sharma parried a question on whether LIC will pump more money in equities as the markets have been on a song for the past many months, scaling new lifetime peaks, saying traditionally LIC invests 20 percent of its investible corpus into equities. But he did not quantify the corpus.
“Our stated objective is to secure the money of the policyholder and also his life and not just make profits. We do invest a portion of our investible corpus in the market and most of which is in the sovereign debt,” Sharma said.
Almost 80 percent of its Rs 23 trillion investment is in government bonds, while around 19 percent in equities and the rest in realty and other areas.
Both the Sensex and the Nifty rallied nearly 0.80 percent to scale new closing peaks at 30,580 plus and over 9500, respectively, today.
In FY17, LIC saw its first-year premium jump 27.22 percent to Rs 1,24,396.27 crore on a surge in single-premium policy sale and falling interest rates. In FY16 this stood at Rs 97,777.47 crore. This had the insurance giant increasing its market share to 71.07 per cent from 70.61 per cent.
LIC’s market share in terms of the number of policies stood at 76.09 percent, up from 74.72 percent last year, even though it sold fewer policies which declined to 2.01 crore in FY17 from 2.05 crore in FY16. Sharma attributed this to lack of enough products.
“We had between 80 and 100 products till the regulator IRDAI cancelled them. Now we have 26-27 products with just one ULIP. We hope to get back to the pre-ban levels over the next few years,” Sharma said.
Till December 2016, LIC’s total assets grew 12.81 percent to Rs 24.42 trillion from Rs 21.65 trillion in the year-ago period. It’s gross total income grew 15.76 percent to Rs 3.37 trillion till December from Rs 2.91 trillion driven by the new business premium that clipped at 40.11 percent.
When asked about LIC’s view on the Essar Oil-Rosnet deal, he said the Corporation fully supports the deal, provided the Ruias rework deal structure that meets LIC’s investment terms or repay the around Rs 2,300 crore loan.
On the ongoing case in the Bombay High Court challenging LIC’s over 16 per cent investment in the tobacco major ITC, he said the ideal way to look at the issue is from a commercial angle.
“If we exit this highly productive investment, somebody will snap it up. So it is not a war between smokers and non-smokers or health versus disease. It is a commercial decision and so far this has made immense commercial sense. Also, ITC has diversified and today only 45 percent of its revenue comes from tobaccos, which some years back was 90 percent or more,” he said.
On a question on LIC’s higher holding in ITC, Axis Bank (both on behalf of government through the Suuti holdings) and Corporation Bank, Sharma said these are with specific permission from IRDAI, but if it wants LIC to pare them, the Corporation will do that. LIC owns over 16 percent in these companies.
